This year, The HEX Group proudly celebrates Adam Daykin and his remarkable 30-year journey within our organisation. Adam began his career with us at Alpha Manufacturing, joining as a production assistant when the team was a close-knit group of about 50 employees. Starting on the shop floor, Adam quickly mastered skills on folding machines, press brakes, and punch machines, establishing a strong foundation in manufacturing operations.

Demonstrating dedication and talent, Adam soon moved into the programming office, sharpening his technical abilities. He then transitioned to Bri-Stor Systems as a trainee engineer, where he embarked on a journey of continuous learning, gaining qualifications in CAD design and achieving both HNC and HND in Mechanical Engineering. His commitment to growth and expertise eventually led him to the role of Project Engineer, where he took on more complex responsibilities.

Fast forward to today, Adam is a Prototype Production Engineer, a role that allows him to leverage his extensive experience while collaborating closely with both prototype and production teams. His deep understanding of our processes and unwavering dedication have made him an invaluable asset to The HEX Group.

Reflecting on his career, Adam fondly recalls collaborating with the company’s founder, Eric Smith, on designing the Easi Load One—an experience he holds close to his heart.

Adam comments on his working life at The HEX Group, “Seeing the business grow and improve over the years has been fantastic. So much has changed and evolved and I feel privileged to have been a part of it. I look forward to what the future holds for The HEX Group.”

Adam’s legacy within the company continues with his son now working in another division, bringing a second generation into the HEX family. Outside of work, Adam enjoys coaching under-16s rugby and spending time in his allotment, where he finds joy in gardening.
