Just over 12 months ago, The HEX Group began implementing a new quality inspection system called SafetyCulture to improve processes, reduce costs and help the business become greener, working towards their 2037 carbon neutral target.
Initially introduced into the Bri-Stor systems area of the group, the interactive software installed on tablets allows quality engineers to conduct in-depth checks on all converted vehicles. A template exists for every vehicle specification, giving inspectors an accurate and up-to-date checklist for inspection.
SafetyCulture is cloud based and backed up on the internal sage system allowing users to upload photos and save information quickly and easily. With live-time information, any issues raised during inspections can be sent to production engineers for further investigation and resolution, speeding up the process considerably. Reports can be streamlined and programmed to export inspection reports, populate smart sheets and send alerts.
Before the implementation of SafetyCulture, all inspections were logged on paper and stored in a cupboard. This was extremely costly and proved difficult to locate reports once the vehicles had left the compound.
The software is now successfully used in Bri-Stor Systems for warranty reporting, vehicle graphics and prototypes, streamlining and speeding up processes. A huge benefit for the business and the customer.
SafetyCulture can be accessed by anyone within the business and can generate several in-depth reports that can help production improve processes and inspections.
Return on investment has been achieved multiple times, and the business continues to save money on printing and paper costs and decrease our environmental impact.
Due to the success of software, SafetyCulture has now been implemented in other divisions of The HEX Group, including Alpha Manufacturing, which uses the kit to quality check all goods before being shipped to the customer.
